Open Letter: Journalists Call on Government to Clarify Latest Directive to the Press

We, the undersigned media organizations and associations, the Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM), the Cambodian Journalists Alliance Association (CamboJA), International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), and Overseas Press Club of Cambodia (OPCC) express our deep concerns over the latest directive barring journalists from covering “police investigations”, which could restrict the rights of journalists to cover news in Cambodia.

OPCC Announces New Board For 2021

The Overseas Press Club of Cambodia (OPCC) has elected a new board for 2021.
During these unprecedented times, OPCC board members decided to hold the annual elections online due to imposed Covid-19 restrictions after the “November 28 Community Event”. All members were sent an online voting form and the results are now in.

Joint Statement: Media groups call on authorities to step up fight against impunity for crimes against journalists

On this International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, the Cambodian Journalists Alliance (CamboJA), the Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM), Overseas Press Club of Cambodia (OPCC) and International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) express our deep concern over systems which rarely bring perpetrators of crimes against journalists to justice, and we urge authorities to take immediate action to ensure effective, independent and transparent investigations into such crimes.
