The Overseas Press Club of Cambodia (OPCC) has elected a new board for 2021.
During these unprecedented times, OPCC board members decided to hold the annual elections online due to imposed Covid-19 restrictions after the “November 28 Community Event”.
All members were sent an online voting form and the results are now in.
The new board is:
- President: Ate Hoekstra
- Vice president: Juliette Buchez
- Secretary: Quinn Libson
- Treasurer: Pete Ford
- Board members: Marissa Carruthers, Enric Catala Contreras, Gerry Flynn, Danielle Keeton-Olsen and Matt Surrusco
Despite Covid-19 severely impacting the OPCC’s ability to host events throughout 2020, we still managed to safely organise a series of gatherings. These include a panel discussion to mark International Translators’ Day and a field trip to unravel the carvings at Win-Win Monument. When possible, we also held OPCC’s monthly ‘drinks and mingle meet-up’ at Cloud.
While 2021 remains impossible to predict, the OPCC pledges to continue to support journalists in Cambodia and across the region. We also hope to be able to organise more informative discussions, debates and events throughout the year and will continue with our monthly drinks on the first Thursday of the month.
Keep an eye on OPCC’s social media channels to see when the next drinks will be held and for upcoming events.
To become an OPCC member of the OPCC, email opccambodia@gmail.com. Membership is open to all overseas journalists and members of the media community in Cambodia. The OPCC asks for a US$15 annual contribution from members.
